CAM Contributes to AMC Institute Research on the AMC Model Performance Study

Capital Association Management (CAM) is pleased to announce their contribution to the AMC Institute’s new initiative. AMC Institute is the premiere accrediting body globally for association management companies (AMCs), and they have recently released the findings of the AMC Model Performance Study and resources for associations. Among these new resources, the AMC Institute has launched a new microsite and resource center providing best practices, case studies, proprietary research, and business tools designed specifically to help those associations striving to flourish in today’s environment.

Among the 180+ association management companies represented by the AMC Institute, CAM was fortunate enough to be selected to provide case studies for this project. These case studies exist to demonstrate the value AMCs can bring to associations.

Case Studies

As a part of this initiative, the AMC Institute has assembled case studies constructed by selected members. These case studies are designed with the goal of demonstrating the potential value of AMCs to associations. Included among these case studies are specific references to COVID-19’s impact, in addition to others that cover a number of important topics. Such topics include Alternative Revenue Sources, Content Strategies, COVID Response Efforts, Crisis Communications, Delivering Partnership/Sponsorship Value, Education & Learning Management Systems, Financial Sustainability, Member Value, Strategic Planning, Virtual Meetings and Workforce/Talent Development.

CAM Contributions

Capital Association Management has two featured case studies on the new site. Their case studies examine Energy Management Association (EMA), which was pursuing financial independence from its parent organization, and AABC Commissioning Group (ACG), which was dealing the cancelation of an important annual meeting. These case studies can be found under Alternate Revenue Resources and Virtual Meetings respectively, and are located on the AMC Institute website. Capital Association Management ownership is hopeful that these insights will be beneficial to the broader AMC field, and feels fortunate to be selected for this tremendous opportunity.

CAM Achieves AMC Institute Re-accreditation

Washington, D.C., October 6, 2023  – Capital Association Management, LLC (CAM) announced that it has recently been awarded re-accreditation by AMC Institute, the global trade association representing the Association Management industry.

Among 500-plus Association Management Companies (AMC) worldwide, only 81 have achieved AMC Institute Accreditation, demonstrating the commitment and the ability to deliver the highest level of professional management services to association and not-for-profit clients.   These AMCs are the recognized choice of association and not-for-profit organizations.

“We applaud Capital Association Management on this significant achievement,” AMC Institute Chair Mark Engle said. “AMC Institute accreditation requires that association management firms demonstrate adherence to operational and ethical best practices, as outlined in the AMC Institute Standard. Accreditation distinguishes CAM’s ongoing commitment to leadership in association management.”

Administered by AMC Institute, AMC Institute Accreditation is recognized and supported by ASAE & The Center for Association Leadership and is based on the ANSI Standard of Good Practices for the AMC Industry.  ANSI requires that the standard be reviewed and updated regularly to remain an approved standard.  Measurable performance practices include contracts and service delivery; employee recruitment, training and professional development; and financial management and internal controls, among others.  AMCs must earn re-accreditation every four years, demonstrating to an independent outside auditor that they continue to meet the standard.

“This recognition from the AMC Institute affirms CAM’s commitment to providing first-class service to our clients, their members, and the communities they serve,” said CAM Principal, Anna Kosova.  “The re-accreditation process was challenging, but made possible by the hard work and determination of our staff and leadership. Their dedication to ensuring that CAM serves its mission to help associations and their members reach their full potential, achieve their goals and lead their industries is second to none, and I thank them for unwavering support.”
