Social Media Marketing Campaign Success Story: 555% Increase in LinkedIn Number of Followers!

By CAM

In the summer of 2020, Capital Association Management (CAM) was asked to come up with a marketing plan for growing a client-association’s web presence and engagement. One part of the plan involved increasing the number of followers on the client-association’s LinkedIn page as well as boosting engagement (likes, shares, comments, etc.).

CAM Principal, Anna Kosova at AMCI Annual Meeting

Key Takeaways from the AMCI Annual Meeting

By CAM

Last week, I attended my third AMCI Annual Meeting, in which I participated as a committee member of the 2022 Annual Meeting Content Planning Committee, a co-facilitator of the AMCs by Size Roundtable Discussion, and as an attendee. Once I started recognizing more and more faces, I felt more comfortable learning and sharing my perspective. I was also able to anticipate what was expected of me after having attended sessions and networked during receptions.

Case Study: Newly Established Hall of Fame Awards Program

By CAM

Associations succeed by having a shared mission, but there is always a smaller number of members who go above and beyond, giving back through volunteer service year after year. The Associated Air Balance Council (AABC) has had many such individuals spread across its remarkable 55+ year history. Rarely do members ever leave AABC, because the certification we provide is critical to winning business. With that in mind, friendships among members have been established for decades, and we have witnessed (pre-pandemic) the palpable comradery at our annual meetings.

ANAB Accreditation

My First Experience with ANAB Accreditation

By CAM

My first time working with an ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB) accredited program proved to be an ongoing learning experience.

I have worked with certification programs before that had the approval of the U.S. Department of Labor, so I understood that following a set of policies and procedures strengthen the professional value of a certification program. However, every accreditation process is different, and can be intricately involved – but necessary for the program’s success.

Tips for a Successful Virtual Strategic Planning Session

By CAM

In the past few months, associations have found it challenging or impossible to hold in person strategic planning sessions due to global pandemic restrictions.

We facilitated a 12-hour, 3-day virtual strategic planning session for our medium-sized ($1.5 million in annual revenue) certification-based client-association servicing a specialized niche in the construction industry. While it was different from historical strategic planning meetings with participants seated around a big table in one room, it ultimately was successful.

Effective Member Retention & Renewals Techniques During Hard Times

During difficult times—whether the current situation or other economic downturns– some members might be at risk for non-renewal due to financial hardship. However, many still desire to stay connected with their industry and place involvement in associations high on the priority list. Pursuing success in renewals depends largely on managing efforts in two main areas: member engagement and member retention in the service of creating and communicating tangible value. Read different strategies and timelines that we used last year to accomplish a 96% renewal rate for our client-association.
